It takes a skill-based approach to assessment, allowing companies to automatically generate standardized tests based on various skills and then accurately measure the developer’s performance on those skills. 

We proudly serve 500+ customers across the globe with many of the fortune 1000 names in the list like Walmart, Amazon, Google, Facebook and Microsoft etc. We have assessed more than 1M candidates, support 37 different programming languages, provide 8 different types of assessment techniques and enable assessments across 100+ different skills. 

HackerEarth also has a community version of the product that is used by developers all across the globe, to assess their coding skills, become better at it, and measure their true potential. They do it by solving coding challenges across different topics/skills and by participating in online competitions/hackathons. We have a thriving community of 6.5M developers. 

The Role: Vice President of Marketing 

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you’ll be leading HackerEarth’s marketing strategies and a team of dynamic individuals as part of the marketing function. To be successful in this role, you’d have to be excited about playing a significant role shaping, contributing to the company’s next level growth. You will design, implement and monitor effective marketing strategies that align with our business goals. 

Our ideal candidate has a solid marketing background, with hands-on experience of SaaS marketing and work experience managing various marketing activities, including paid advertising campaigns, digital marketing, PR, content, events etc. Our VP of Marketing will report directly to the CEO and ultimately, you should be able to ensure that the Marketing functions activities contribute to our company’s long-term success. 

Key responsibilities: 

Strategy & Leadership 

  • Develop and execute company-wide marketing strategies to support the goals of the company, ensuring strategy is understood and executed throughout the team
  • Build an energetic, high-performing cross-functional marketing function that provides strategic direction, guidance, and mentorship to the existing members of the team
  • Set goals, direction, and lead day-to-day priorities, workflow, and quality for the marketing team 
  • Oversee and facilitate the measurement and evaluation of marketing effectiveness, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Forecast hiring needs for the Marketing department 
  • Participate in the quarterly and annual planning of the company’s objectives

Branding & Communications 

  • Plan and develop marketing programs that support brand initiatives and messaging across a variety of digital and traditional touchpoints, including but not limited to the website, emails, newsletters, virtual events and paid media campaigns
  • Analyzing existing branding and marketing strategies and improving upon them 
  • Provide oversight and direction for communications and public relations efforts 
  • Serve as a subject-matter guide for the company, staying abreast of trends and drive insights to inform our content strategy and brand positioning
  • Lead all aspects of development and delivery against a comprehensive editorial calendar geared toward marketplace education, lead generation, and retention

Growth & Product Marketing: 

  • Lead the team to define and execute our growth marketing strategies encompassing awareness, engagement, acquisition, and retention
  • Drive customer acquisition by leveraging various demand channels including but not limited to, paid search, social media, events/webinars, content, PR, influencer marketing and others.
  • Own up demand goals for the company and carry a SQL/Revenue target. 
  • Work cross-functionally with product management and other teams to develop product-specific positioning and messaging
  • Conduct market analysis to identify challenges and opportunities for growth 
  • Monitor all marketing campaigns and improve them when necessary

What an ideal candidate could look like (Indicative): 

  • 10+ years of B2B marketing experience (preferably in a start-up SaaS environment) with a wide knowledge of the full marketing stack
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, building and leading a dynamic marketing organization with outstanding ability to recruit, retain, and excite our existing team and future talent
  • Demonstrable experience designing and implementing successful marketing campaigns 
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, web analytics and Google Adwords 
  • Experience with CRM software and digital marketing tools and techniques 
  • Monitor٫ scrutinize٫ and improve marketing campaigns as needed. 
  • Extensive knowledge of marketing trends, techniques, and latest industry developments 
  • Strong leadership and excellent communications skills 
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
